Glossary

Altcoin — Any cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin.

Blockchain — A distributed ledger that records transactions in blocks. Each block is linked to the previous one.

DeFi — Decentralized Finance. Financial applications built on blockchains without intermediaries.

Gas fee — A fee paid to process a transaction on a blockchain (e.g. Ethereum).

NFT — Non-Fungible Token. A unique digital asset stored on a blockchain.

Seed phrase — A sequence of words used to recover a wallet. It is the master key—never share it.

Smart contract — Self-executing code on a blockchain that runs when conditions are met.

Stablecoin — A cryptocurrency pegged to a stable asset (e.g. USD).

Wallet — Software or hardware that stores your private keys and allows you to send and receive crypto.
